From our Farm to Your Table

We are The Braegelmann's. We're third generation farmers who are farming the same land that our Grandparents farmed. We have been raising broiler chickens for Pilgrims Pride since 2014. We currently operate approximately 400 acres of cropland, hay ground, and pasture land that we utilize for our herd of Hereford cattle. We maintain a group of female cows and breed them with the highest quality Registered Hereford Bulls to produce a high quality, healthy and docile calf. We select the best female calves to join the herd of mothers, and the rest of the calves are finished right here on our farm without the use of any artificial growth hormones and are fed the hay and grains raised by us on our farm.

We are blessed with four little helpers around the farm who love to spend time outside doing chores, playing with all of the animals, and going for tractor or Ranger rides!

Why buy our Beef?

Here at Hillview Family Farms we prioritize animal comfort and overall health. A happy, healthy animal produces the highest quality and most nutritious beef. We never use any growth hormones, we use antibiotics only on animals who become sick, and we always follow all withdrawal periods after treating any animal with any medication.

Our farm is in the process of converting much of our cropland from the corn and soybean rotation that is common in our area to an alfalfa/grass mixed pasture for our cattle to spend their time in year-round. This allows us to drastically reduce the risk that our hilly land will erode during heavy rainfall events, keeping our valuable nutrients in place while also keeping our ditches and ponds clean. When cattle are grazing, their carbon footprint significantly decreases. We don't need to cut, bale, or haul the hay to the cows, plus they are doing the job that our manure spreader would have to do if they were living in a feedlot as much of our country's beef is.

When you buy your beef directly from Hillview Family Farms, you're cutting out all of the middlemen who normally take a share of the price. We have our cattle processed right here in Central Minnesota by experienced butchers, so your beef has never seen the inside of a semi, further reducing the carbon footprint, and keeping every penny of your money right here in our small town to be reinvested!
